R2ISDJ2 is back with a bang. “Soundtrack For Myself” is an entity comprised of first-rate danceable-chillout-hip-hop grooves with exemplary execution. His first album “Music for My Friends” (2020) was already very good, but the new album “Soundtrack For Myself” is a clear improvement and feels way more finished as a whole.
The usage of drama and tasty musical layering makes the songs flow seamlessly and the album feels shorter than it is (just under 37 minutes). Groovy drums and a generous amount of organic instruments give the album a laid-back feel. The diversity of the songs together with memorable melodies and tasteful atmospheres make it a perfect all-around casual listening album, leaving you humming those beautiful melodies for days.
For anyone playing to audiences, it is a Swiss army knife in the form of a vinyl record: there are songs to fit all kinds of parties and occasions. It is easy to picture some of the songs being played for many grateful party-goers – from now to eternity.
